Sainsbury's Coffee Shop goes Fairtrade
As the first Sainsbury's Coffee Shop to go Fairtrade, the Preston Fairtrade Steering Group was invited to sample the coffee at the newly refurbished unit by store manager Julia Blackett and regional business development manager, Sascha Rawlinson, responsible for hot drinks in the coffee shops nationwide. The steering group heard of the exciting plans to roll out Fairtrade nationwide by Fairtrade Fortnight 2007. All coffee and hot chocolate served in the Preston Coffee Shop is now Fairtrade, with tea, sugar and snacks to follow. This is a tremendous step and the Steering Group are very proud to be associated with this initiative.
Following the discussions with the Sainsbury's team and enjoying a delicious coffee and Fairtrade nibbles, the group proceeded to hold their September meeting in the coffee shop.
